Samsung’s Foldable Flagship Refresh Arrives in July 2025
Samsung is gearing up for its second Unpacked event of 2025, slated for July in New York City, where it will reveal the next generation of foldable smartphones: the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. This launch aims to solidify Samsung’s lead in the foldable market amid intensifying competition from OnePlus, Motorola, and HONOR.
Key Upgrades: Design, Power, and AI
While the Fold 7 and Flip 7 will retain a familiar silhouette, Samsung promises subtle yet meaningful improvements under the hood and in user experience. These include upgraded Snapdragon 8 Elite processors, larger batteries, and faster refresh rates of 120Hz across their main and cover displays. The internal displays of the Fold 7 will measure 8.2 inches, with a 6.5-inch cover screen, and the Flip 7 will come with a 6.85-inch interior display paired with a 4-inch external screen.

Samsung is also eyeing the budget foldable market with a new model rumored to be launched under the name Galaxy Z Flip Xe, alternatively called the Flip 7 FE (Fan Edition). Positioned to attract price-conscious buyers, this device reportedly sports an Exynos 2400e chipset, 8GB RAM, a 6.7-inch main display, and a smaller 3.4-inch cover screen. Its battery capacity is expected to be around 3700mAh with 25W charging support.
Beyond Phones: Project Moohan and Wearables
The Unpacked event will not be limited to smartphones. Samsung is anticipated to introduce Project Moohan, a mixed-reality headset featuring 4K micro-OLED displays and the Snapdragon XR2 Plus Gen 2 processor. This device marks Samsung’s continued push into immersive technology.
Additionally, the Galaxy Watch 8 series is expected to debut with refinements in health tracking and design, alongside early reveals of experimental devices like a tri-fold Galaxy G-Fold, the Galaxy Ring 2 smart ring, and the AI-driven Robot Ballie.
