A report in November 2020 last year showed that Apple is working on a foldable iPhone. Now a new report has revealed that the foldable iPhone will be launched in 2023. The report also revealed several specs of upcoming foldable phones.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (via MacRumours) reported that “Apple will launch its foldable phone in 2023 with an 8-inch QHD + flexible OLED display.”
It is to be noted that the foldable iPhone will use TPK’s Silver NanoWire touch solution as it has many advantages over SDC’s Y-Octa technology. In addition, the shipment target for foldable devices will be 15 to 20 million units.
In addition, foldable devices will require touch technology that supports multiple folds such as rollable, medium to large size display and durability. Kuo said, “Looking at the particular specs mentioned above, it can be said that the Silver NanoWar will be similar or superior.”
He explained that Apple already uses the Silver NanoWire for HomePod’s touch interface, which makes Apple the master of technology.
According to previous leaks, this foldable phone from Apple can be offered for around $ 1499. Previous reports suggest that the foldable phone will replace the iPad and work on the iPad OS.
