Maruti WagonR EV
The electric version of Maruti Suzuki WagonR, one of the most famous cars in India, is expected to be launched this year. The car is very similar in appearance to the non-electric version. However, an attempt has also been made to modernize the design to some extent. According to the news, the WagonR EV can give a range of 130 kilometers to 180 kilometers and can be charged 80 percent in an hour.
Tata Altroz EV
Tata also does not want to be left behind in the electric car market. The company has been working on the electric version of the Altroz for a long time and is expected to be introduced by the end of this year. According to the news, the Altroz EV motor and some other specifications will be similar to the Nexon EV. It can be given a battery of 30.2kWh capacity, which can give users a range of 250 km to 300 km in a single charge. The battery of this car is also expected to be charged up to 80 percent in about 1 hour time using a DC fast charger similar to the Nexon EV.
Mahindra (Mahindra & Mahindra) showed the eKUV100 at the Auto Expo 2020 last year and this upcoming electric car made a lot of headlines in the media world at that time. The car was yet to be launched, but last year the launch was pushed ahead due to blockages at manufacturing plants due to the Kovid-19 epidemic. The upcoming Mahindra eKUV100 will be powered by a 40kWh electric motor, which will generate 53bhp of power and 120Nm of torque. It is reported that the upcoming car will give a range of 120 km. It will be given a 15.9kWh lithium-ion battery and will be given two charging options. The company has not shared the standard charging capacity and time, but this car will be charged up to 80 percent in an hour through fast charging adder.
Mahindra eXUV 300
Mahindra is also the next car in the list. The Mahindra eXUV 300 will be the electric version of the company’s current XUV 300. While the non-electric model has made a mark in the affordable compact-SUV segment, it remains to be seen how effective its electric variants will be. This car was also shown at the Auto-Expo. The design has been tweaked to give this model an electric feel, away from the standard model. The company says that the car will be offered in two variants. One variant of this will be standard, which will come with a 40kWh capacity battery and one variant will be a long range variant coming with a 60kWh capacity battery. Both the variants will get a range of 300 km and 450 km respectively. This is much higher than the 312 km range of the current Tata Nexon EV. At the moment, more information about the car has not been shared by the company.
Renault Kwid Electric
The Renault Kwid is a very popular car in India. The reason for this is the low price and some good specifications. Now the company is preparing to bring an electric version of its popular car in India. The company has also launched its electric version in China under the name K-ZE. No exact time frame has been shared as to when it will be launched in India, but reports say that Reno may launch it in 2021.
The name of which electric version of Kwid will be launched is not known at the moment, but if it comes with the specifications of K-ZE, then it will have a 26.8kWh capacity battery, which can give a range of 270 km.
