YouTube set to soon bring affordable YouTube Premium Lite with ad-free

Google is experimenting with an affordable lite version of YouTube. Coming soon to YouTube Premium Lite with an ad-free viewing experience.

As reported by The Verge, YouTube Premium Lite, priced at €6.99, is currently being tested in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden.

In the comparison, YouTube Premium costs around €11.99 per month in Europe.

Premium Lite offers ad-free viewing at a low cost.

“At Nordics Benelux (except Iceland), we are testing a new offering to give users even more choices,” a YouTube spokesperson said in a statement. Premium Lite costs EUR 6.99 per month (or the local equivalent per month). It includes ad-free videos on YouTube.

Premium Lite includes ad-free viewing across the web, iOS, Android, Smart TV game consoles as well as the YouTube Kids app.

However, Premium Lite doesn’t offer other benefits like ad-free listening, background playback, or offline downloads.

To further enhance its cloud gaming service Stadia, Google last year introduced a free $100 Stadia Premier Edition bundle for YouTube Premium subscribers.

The Steady Premium version is a controller that comes with the older version of Chromecast, not the recently released Google TV.
